Join us in Edmonton, Alberta, for the 2017 Vision Zero Advocate Conference.
We are thrilled to announce that ATS Traffic will be presenting the inaugural Vision Zero Advocate Conference from March 1 to 3, 2017, in Edmonton, Alberta.
Vision Zero began as a road safety strategy implemented in Sweden in the 1990s. Unlike other traditional road safety initiatives that focus on driver error, Vision Zero encourages a holistic approach. This approach examines the multitude of factors that impact road safety — such as engineering and design — and attempts to improve them from a structural perspective.
ATS Traffic is a proud advocate of the Vision Zero movement, and we are committed to establishing leadership and momentum for enhanced road safety initiatives in Canada. The goal of Vision Zero is simple: to reduce the number of traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries to zero. The task at hand, however, is not so simple. Effective Vision Zero initiatives take funding, resources, expertise, and public support. That is why we are hosting the Vision Zero Advocate Conference.
The conference will bring together speakers, delegates, exhibitors, and sponsors from both the public and private sectors to collaborate on the most effective approach to mobilizing Vision Zero. We want to help as many communities as possible access the tools, resources, and knowledge that will enable them to increase road safety on their own streets.
We are welcoming speakers from across North America to join us for a three-day event that focuses on learning and action planning. One of our distinguished speakers is Leah Shahum, founder and director of the Vision Zero Network out of San Francisco, who has done extensive work with the design, implementation, and governance of Vision Zero initiatives. Gerry Shimko of the Office of Traffic Safety in Edmonton, who has led the city to its renowned status of one of only a few Canadian Vision Zero cities, will join us to deliver a case study on Edmonton’s success. For a full list of speakers, check out our Speakers page.
There will be a trade show and exhibition component to the conference, which will give product specialists the opportunity to showcase the latest technology in traffic safety innovation. Delegates will enjoy the Gala Dinner, as well as a host of other networking opportunities, in order to create the kind of connections and relationships that will foster a sense of national collaboration on Vision Zero.
We look forward to welcoming you to Edmonton in March and driving Vision Zero forward together!
We are offering early bird pricing on conference registration until January 15, 2017.
