Join us in Toronto, Ontario for the 2018 Vision Zero Advocate Conference!
We are thrilled to announce that the Vision Zero Advocate Institute and ATS Traffic will be presenting the second annual Vision Zero Advocate Conference from February 28 – March 2, 2018 in Toronto, Ontario.
Vision Zero began as a road safety strategy in Sweden in the 1990s. Unlike other traditional strategies that focus heavily on driver error, Vision Zero encourages a holistic approach. This approach examines the many factors that impact road safety such as engineering, roadway design, traffic data, and driver behaviour.
The Vision Zero Advocate Institute, supported by ATS Traffic, is a global community dedicated to helping organizations and municipalities create traffic safety plans that focus on getting to zero. The goal of Vision Zero is simple: to reduce the number of traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries to zero. However, the task is not so simple. Effective Vision Zero initiatives take funding, resources, expertise, and public support. That is why we are hosting the Vision Zero Advocate Conference.
We’re bringing together speakers, delegates, exhibitors, and sponsors from both the public and private sectors to collaborate on the most effective approach to mobilizing Vision Zero. We’re welcoming speakers from across North America to join us for a three-day event that builds on the learning of basic Vision Zero principles and focuses on implementing action.
This year’s line-up includes David Stark, the Co-Founder of Friends and Families for Safe Streets and a widowed husband who lost his wife in a traffic incident. We’re also thrilled to welcome Pamela Fuselli, Vice President of Knowledge Transfer and Stakeholder Relations for Parachute – a leading Injury Prevention organization. For a full list of speakers, check out our Speakers page.
There will be a trade show and exhibition component to the conference, which will give product specialists the opportunity to showcase the latest technology in traffic safety innovation. Delegates will enjoy the Gala Dinner, as well as a host of other networking opportunities, in order to create the kind of connections and relationships that will foster a sense of national collaboration on Vision Zero.
We look forward to welcoming you to Toronto and driving Vision Zero forward together!
