About the Position

ATS Traffic is looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Calgary branch! Reporting remotely to the Director of Environmental Health and Safety (Edmonton, AB), the Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with planning, implementing and monitoring our the health and safety strategy at ATS Traffic.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for administering EHS portion of New Employee Orientation sessions to all ATS branches.
  • Maintain ATS’s Health and Safety program by holding weekly safety meetings, monthly JHSC meetings, and overseeing that PPE, building,
    forklift and truck inspections are completed and proper paperwork is processed.
  • Assist in the maintenance of COR status along with the Director of EHS.
  • Conduct field site safety audits and inspections, assist in the investigation of incidents as they arise.
  • Inspect ATS facilities to determine existing or potential hazards, determine corrective and/or preventive measures as required.
  • Provide support and direction to branch level safety/risk management personnel to coordinate the development and implementation of ATS’s HSE policies.
  • Administer tracking of employee training and files, coordinate updated training for employees prior to certification expiry.
  • Occasional travel to ATS branches as required.

 

Qualifications

  • NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) Certification is required.
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years’ progressive experience in a related safety role.
  • Related post secondary education in Business Administration, OH&S or a related field is an asset.
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
