ATS Traffic’s new Engineering & Consulting Department IntelliTrafik is growing & demand for Traffic Accommodation Strategies is booming. We are seeking an experienced Drafting/Design technician who is a team player and motivated to grow the business. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in designing temporary traffic accommodation drawings.

 

Please note that this position will be based either in Edmonton or Calgary

 

This position will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following job duties:

Preparing Traffic Accommodation Strategies;

Produce drawings using computer assisted drafting systems ;

Create temporary traffic control strategies and other reports as required;

Research, review and implement methods, systems and procedures that add value to engineering service’s final products;

Conduct field surveys to obtain data required to produce/revise temporary traffic control drawings;

Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages, according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction;

Determine order of work and method of presentation;

Supervise and train other CAD operators

Communicate directly with customers to ensure project understanding and timely delivery.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

2 years or more in the traffic/road safety or road construction industry is preferred;

Preference given to candidates with an AutoCAD certificate;

Preference will be given to candidates with Civil 3D experience/expertise;

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in designing temporary traffic accommodation drawings;

Field experience setting up temporary work zone designs is desirable;

Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Windows operation system;

Good knowledge of Edmonton/Calgary streets and Alberta Road network;

Possession of a valid Alberta Class 5 non GDL driver’s license;

Must be able to pass a drug & alcohol screening.
