ATS Traffic Achieves Platinum Status in the Best Managed Companies Program

Edmonton, Alberta. May 9, 2023 – ATS Traffic Ltd. has been officially named a “Platinum Club Member” as part of the Best Managed Companies program in Canada. As a Platinum Club Member, ATS Traffic has been fully recognized for their commitment and dedication to the Best Managed Companies program for over seven years and demonstrating exemplary performance as an organization.

“We are honoured to be named a Platinum Club Member of the Best Managed Companies program,” said Colin McCarten, Executive VP of Sales and Marketing for ATS Traffic. “Our previous Gold Standard status and this new achievement signifies our consistent dedication to the Best Managed Companies program. It is exciting to take ATS Traffic’s progression a step further.

Hundreds of companies vie for Best Managed Companies program awards each year. Efforts to attain an award involve an extensive process of evaluation and meeting outlined criteria. This includes the analysis of company structure, annual performance, organizational growth, and internal practices. The program evaluation committee also digs deep into other areas of corporate interest such as company business models, strategy development, competitive advantages, and company culture.

“As we have expanded to over 650 employees and nine locations, our footprint in Canada is highly significant and our reach continues to grow,” explained Colin. “This new designation will further enhance our credibility as a reputable traffic safety company and allow us to grow our already strong company culture by attracting even more talent to ATS Traffic.”

Platinum Club Member designation comes with incentives such as increased public media exposure, exclusive usage of the Best Managed Companies program brand, networking opportunities, and much more.

“This award creates an array of new opportunities, including the capacity to spread our mission of driving safety forward and getting people home safely everyday. It will allow the ATS Traffic brand to be exposed on a grander scale and give us the chance to grow as an organization through newly opened channels for professional development,” Colin concluded.

Colin will be joined by ATS Traffic’s Ontario leadership team when he attends the Best Managed Companies award gala in Toronto (May 9-10, 2023).

About Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program

Canada’s Best Managed Companies program continues to be the mark of excellence for privately-owned Canadian companies. Every year since the launch of the program in 1993, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices. The awards are granted on four levels: 1) Canada’s Best Managed Companies new winner (one of the new winners selected each year); 2) Canada’s Best Managed Companies winner (award recipients that have re-applied and successfully retained their Best Managed designation for two additional years, subject to annual operational and financial review); 3) Gold Standard winner (after three consecutive years of maintaining their Best Managed status, these winners have demonstrated their commitment to the program and successfully retained their award for 4-6 consecutive years); 4) Platinum Club member (winners that have maintained their Best Managed status for seven years or more). Program sponsors are Deloitte Private, CIBC, The Globe and Mail, Salesforce and TMX Group. For more information, visit
